The Federal Reserve signaled in September that it could begin tapering its $120 billion in monthly bond purchases soon. Fed Chair Jerome Powell said the U.S. economy has recovered sufficiently for the central bank to potentially announce the start of tapering at its November 3, 2021 meeting. What could tapering mean for listed real assets? A look back at the performance of global real estate and infrastructure equities during the last tapering cycle may provide some clues.
